PONTE VEDRA BEACH, FL --  The BUY.COM TOUR announced the winners of its Charity of the Year and Volunteer of the Year for the 2000 season on Tuesday.

St. Joseph's Center, nominated by the BUY.COM TOUR Steamtown Classic in Moosic, Pa., is the TOUR's Charity of the Year. St. Joseph's has provided a wide-range of medical services to Northeastern Pennsylvania for the past 112 years, including care to children and young adults who are neurologically impaired, multiply handicapped and medically fragile.

The Charity of the Year receives a $25,000 contribution from the PGA TOUR. St. Joseph's Center has indicated that it will use the money to meet a portion of its capital needs for the current year.

The BUY.COM TOUR's Volunteer of the Year is Janet Matlock, who was nominated for the award by the BUY.COM Fort Smith Classic in Arkansas.

Matlock has been a volunteer at the tournament since its inception in 1998 and served in 2000 as the Volunteer Recruitment Chairperson. The BUY.COM Fort Smith Classic featured more than 1000 volunteers last year with Matlock responsible for not only their recruitment, but their supervision during the tournament.

She will receive a Waterford crystal bowl from the BUY.COM TOUR in recognition of this honor.

"These two awards are among the most important we present each year," said BUY.COM TOUR Chief of Operations Bill Calfee. "To be able to assist local charities and honor the people who exemplify what this TOUR is about is of great importance to our TOUR. We are delighted to make the the contribution to St. Joseph's and recognize Janet Matlock for her service to the TOUR."
