February 25, 2011

IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Wichita, KS - The Preferred Health Systems Wichita Open will be the first stop on the Nationwide Tour with double-decker hospitality tents.
The 17th hole at Crestview Country Club, which has become the tournament's "signature hole", will have two double-decker hospitality tents flanking each side of the green. The capacity will be doubled from 2010 so more than 1,200 people each day can enjoy the Nationwide Tour play on the par three, 17th hole.
"Thanks to a great response from our sponsors we are already nearing a sell-out on 17," said Tournament Director Roy Turner.
The Walt's Burger for a Birdie Promotion will return in 2011 along with the caddie races that caused such excitement in 2010.
The Cox hospitality boxes, which are open to the public, will get an upgrade as well, as the location on 17 will be dramatically improved and there will now be an additional Cox hospitality box on the 18th green.
Turner said that "as a tour we know we are getting the players ready for the PGA TOUR, but the Wichita Open is now preparing the players for the atmosphere of places like the Phoenix Open."
The Preferred Health Systems Wichita Open is a Nationwide Tour event that is sanctioned by the PGA TOUR and in its 22nd year. The tournament will take place from June 13th through the 19th in 2011, and thanks to continued support hopes to improve upon the $132,000 that was raised for local charities in 2010.
