PONTE VEDRA BEACH, FL - The BMW Championship (Lemont, IL) was honored by the PGA TOUR at the TOUR's Tournament Advisory Council (TAC) Meetings on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011. The BMW Championship shared an award for "Best Title Sponsor Integration" during the 2011 tournament at Cog Hill Golf and Country Club. "On behalf of the PGA TOUR, I am pleased to congratulate the BMW Championship for being named the best among its peers on TOUR," said PGA TOUR EVP and Chief of Operations Andy Pazder. "The tournament committee should be proud of the special recognition the event has earned for its efforts." Highlights of BMW's integration include: "On behalf of our partner, BMW, and the Western Golf Association, the BMW Championship is honored to be recognized for our efforts in working with BMW to enhance the tournament experience for everyone involved - the players, spectators, volunteers and our sole charitable beneficiary, the Evans Scholars Foundation," said Vince Pellegrino, WGA Vice President, Tournaments. "BMW is committed to making our championship a world-class event at every level, and each year we find new ways to extend and build on that commitment. Winning this award affirms that BMW and our WGA tournament team are in the forefront of working together to offer a premier championship atmosphere for all." The 2012 BMW Championship, won this year by Justin Rose, will be held Sept. 3-9 at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, IN. |
