Kevin Stadler ... He's 3-for-5 at TPC Sawgrass with a T15 in his debut in 2008 and a T25 in 2012, but he's supported here more due to the combination of recent form and profile for the track despite moderate success. Broke through for his first victory (WM Phoenix Open) three months ago after which he tied for eighth in his first Masters. Currently T8 on the PGA TOUR in total driving and T20 in greens in regulation (eighth in ball-striking). Also 33rd in adjusted scoring and T2 in par-3 scoring.
Pat Perez ... Puts his form to the test at TPC Sawgrass where he's missed the cut in three of his last four trips (T25, 2012). Three top 10s and another three top 25s in 2014 alone and hasn't missed a cut in 13 consecutive starts. Sits 11th in strokes gained-putting, T38 in adjusted scoring, 28th in par breakers and 38th in scrambling.
Michael Thompson ... Fresh off a season-best T11 at Quail Hollow, his fifth top 25 among 11 cuts made in 13 starts in 2013-14. Ever since breaking onto the PGA TOUR in 2011, his strength has been putting. While that remains true today -- he's ninth in strokes gained-putting -- he's also a respectful T61 in ball-striking. No stranger to TPC Sawgrass where he's 2-for-2, albeit without a top 50.
Martin Laird ... Course history buffs will wonder why a guy with a T2 here in 2012 and a T5 last year qualifies in this space. Well, much like a banged-up Angel Cabrera was a Sleeper at the Masters, Laird's form has been off. Since last year's success at TPC Sawgrass, the Scotsman hasn't finished better than T19 (WM Phoenix Open) in a PGA TOUR event. He's just 2-for-5 since becoming a father, too. Perhaps good vibes will emerge this week.
John Huh ... If you wanted to circle an element to his game that's most valuable, it's his ball-striking. The soon-to-be 24-year-old (on May 21) has made his hay tee-to-green. He's survived the cut in both appearances at TPC Sawgrass, including a T23 in his debut en route to winning the 2012 Rookie of the Year Award. This helps validate his fit. Took the last two weeks off after a season-best T3 at Harbour Town.
