A promising ice hockey player at age 10. However, one of the players at his club, Per Nellbeck, was also the local golf professional and taught the entire Jacobson family to play golf. First handicap was 40 but reached scratch five years later, at age 15.
Missed first three months of 2000 after breaking left thumb playing hockey for golf professionals in a game against tennis players in 1999. Needed operation and returned in March to finish third, second and second in successive starts.
Was ranked top 30 in Swedish table tennis at age 14-15.
Recalls a conversation with his daughter before winning the 2010 Travelers Championship, his first career PGA TOUR win; "We were watching the FedExCup. All the winners when they had the recap after the final event and everybody was just hosting trophies left and right," he said. "And I'm sitting there with my kids, and my middle one, Emmie, she goes 'Daddy, why don't you have any trophies at home.' "Well, I got a couple in Sweden, but they're in the garage. But I told her, 'I promise you I'll get one this year for you.' It had been haunting me."
