PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – A total of 312 players – 156 pros and 156 amateur partners – will tee off Thursday in the first round of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Among those is New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick, fresh off his fifth Super Bowl win on Sunday.

Belichick will partner with pro Ricky Barnes, whose father Bruce once punted for the Patriots. Barnes and Belichick have previous experience playing together in this event, and Barnes also played with quarterback Tom Brady during the 2014 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

Bill Murray will also make his usual appearance at Pebble Beach, paired once again with D.A. Points. Those two took the pro-am team title in 2011 when Points won the tournament.

Three courses are in the rotation – Pebble Beach, Monterey Peninsula and Spyglass Hill – and then a cut will be made after 54 holes. The traditional pro-celebrity pairings are set for Saturday’s third round at Pebble Beach.

    THURSDAY'S FEATURED GROUPS

Here are the Featured Groups playing at Pebble Beach for Thursday's PGA TOUR LIVE coverage. (FedExCup ranking in parentheses):

Billy Hurley (84)/Gary Hendrickson and Matt Kuchar (87)/Aneel Buhsri. Kuchar is making his first appearance in this event since 2010; his best finish is a tie for sixth 10 years ago. Hurley is making his fifth start and has made the cut the last two years. Tee time: 10:55 a.m. ET

Patrick Reed (67)/Ed Vaughn and Pat Perez (3)/Michael Lund. Reed has played well here in his four starts; he has two top-10s, including a tie for sixth last year. Perez is making his 15th AT&T start. The first came in 2002, when he led after the second and third rounds and eventually finished second to Matt Gogel. Tee time: 11:06 a.m. ET

In addition, there will be bonus coverage of Jordan Spieth, Dustin Johnson and Phil Mickelson from Monterey Peninsula.

For the week, here are some of the notable groups that will play their third round in the Saturday afternoon TV window. (FedExCup ranking in parentheses.)

Phil Mickelson (52)/Doug Mackenzie and Smylie Kaufman (183)/James Dunne. Mickelson is making his 21st start in this event and has won it four times. A year ago, he finished second to Vaughn Taylor. Kaufman, making his first start in this event, will probably appreciate Phil’s experience around the course.

    Tee times: Thursday – 10:55 a.m. ET (MP/1st); Friday – 11:11 a.m. ET (SH/10th): Saturday – 12:39 p.m. ET (PB/1st)

Jordan Spieth (16)/Jake Owen and Dustin Johnson (96)/Wayne Gretzky. These guys should be quite familiar with each other; this is the same foursome as last year. Johnson and Gretzky appear to be in winning form after claiming $60,000 for their charities during a Tuesday event held on a makeshift artificial turf putting green.

    Tee times: Thursday – 11:06 a.m. ET (MP/1st); Friday – 11:22 a.m. ET (SH/10th): Saturday – 12:50 p.m. ET (PB/1st)

Justin Rose (17)/Justin Timberlake and Will MacKenzie (173)/Brian Thompson. Rose and Timberlake have a long-time friendship that extends beyond the golf course; last November, for instance, they went on a fishing trip and landed a large Wahoo.

    Tee times: Thursday – 11:50 a.m. ET (MP/1st); Friday – 12:06 p.m. ET (SH/10th): Saturday – 11:11 a.m. ET (PB/1st)

Bryson DeChambeau (164)/Mark Wahlberg and Kevin Streelman (66)/Larry Fitzgerald. DeChambeau is making his first start in this event, and gets immediately thrown into the celebrity mix, being paired with the high-profile actor. Streelman and Fitzgerald are traditional partners, both members of Whisper Rock in Scottsdale, Arizona.

    Tee times: Thursday – 12:12 p.m. ET (MP/1st); Friday – 12:28 p.m. ET (SH/10th): Saturday – 11:33 a.m. ET (PB/1st)
