Welcome to PGATOUR.COM's annual preview feature, the Top 100 Players to Watch. Unveiled every December, the Top 100 list is our holiday gift to golf fans eagerly awaiting the start of the next season (and it's closer than you think -- the opening round of the 2012 Hyundai Tournament of Champions is the first Friday in January).

To come up with our ranking of the Top 100 Players to Watch in 2012, we used a variety of criteria and receive input from several sources within the PGA TOUR offices. A player's ranking might be based on how he performed in 2011 .... or how he might perform in 2012 ... or his popularity among fans ... or perhaps whether his story is interesting or unusual. There is no set formula. Much like Bubba Watson plays golf, our lineup is determined a lot on feel.
This year, PGATOUR.COM is delighted to have the involvement of three PGA TOUR winners who will offer their quick takes on each of the 100 players on the list. Chris DiMarco is a three-time winner and has represented the U.S. on Presidents Cup and Ryder Cup teams. Arron Oberholser won the 2006 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. Craig Perks won THE PLAYERS Championship in 2002. (For more on the Three Wise Men, click here)
Other parts of each Top 100 player's profile include a preview written by staff writers Helen Ross or Brian Wacker; a fantasy outlook by PGATOUR.COM's fantasy expert Rob Bolton; key video links; a five-year outlook at how each player has ranked in several key categories; and a breakdown of each player's scoring average on TOUR last season.
You'll probably have some strong opinions on our list. Be sure to let us know by checking out our TOUR Report each day with the latest unveilings
