Chris Kirk fired a 4-under 66 on Sunday to win The McGladrey Classic by one shot over Tim Clark and Briny Baird. The two-time PGA TOUR winner had a couple interesting clubs in the bag, including an Odyssey Mystery Milled No. 1 prototype putter and a Tour Edge Exotics CB Pro fairway wood.
Kirk started using the soon-to-be-released 38-inch Mystery Milled putter at the Deutsche Bank Championship. It features a 15-inch Winn Grip and 20-gram weights in the head that were added to give the putter a counter balance feel. The putter also has a face that looks similar to the company's Metal-X insert.
Tour Edge's Exotics CB Pro fairway wood was unveiled recently and includes a unique "Slip Stream Sole" that minimizes turf interaction by reducing the points of contact with the ground.
While it has a very traditional 160-cc head, the beta titanium cup face and stainless-steel body make it one of the hottest fairway woods on the market with a CT — the club's spring-line effect — of 250, putting it right at the USGA legal limit.
