Gene Sauers and Shriners Children’s patient Paige are both survivors of Stevens-Johnson syndrome, a painful and rare skin condition described as burning from the inside out. Ahead of the 2024 Shriners Children’s Open, Paige was given the opportunity to meet Gene over FaceTime. Paige, 19, was selected as Shriners Children’s International Patient Ambassador and spends her year sharing her story and the impact Shriners Children’s has made in her life.
