23 winners from the pasty two years are entered to play
the Zurich Classic of New Orleans April 25, May 1
NEW ORLEANS, LA (Feb. 24, 2011)-D.A. Points, who won his first PGA TOUR event two weeks ago paired with comedian Bill Murray, has committed to play the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, announced tournament director Tommy Fonseca.
"D.A. is the third winner on the TOUR this year to commit to playing the Zurich Classic of New Orleans," said Fonseca, "and we're happy to welcome him to New Orleans. We would even welcome his playing partner, Bill Murray too," said Fonseca.
With his win at Pebble Beach, points leaped to third in the current FedExCup standings. He is enjoying a breakout year on the TOUR, with an all-time high of $1,465,350 in winnings to go with his victory at Pebble Beach and a fifth place finish at the Bob Hope Classic.
Points also becomes one of no fewer than 23 PGA TOUR players who have won over the past two years to commit to the Zurich Classic. "That further demonstrates the depth of the field we are expecting here for our tournament," said Fonseca.
"Clearly, word is getting out around the PGA TOUR that our new dates, the allure of New Orleans, the strength of Zurich Financial Services as a title sponsor and the reputation of the Fore!Kids Foundation make our tournament very attractive to the top player," he added.

In addition, Steve Flesch, who won the Zurich Classic of New Orleans in 2003, and Tim Petrovic, who won in 2005, will both play this year.
