LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The Northern Trust Open announced that by promoting more than $18,000 in ticket sales, Notre Dame Academy was the top charitable organization in the first bonus pool competition of the tournament's TICKETS Fore CHARITY™ program, resulting in contribution of $10,000 from Northern Trust Corporation (Nasdaq: NTRS).

The TICKETS Fore CHARITY program offers nonprofit organizations a chance to raise funds by promoting ticket sales to the historic Northern Trust Open, to be held February 15-20 at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades. Northern Trust Corporation gave participating charities an additional incentive by offering up to $50,000 in matching donations for the organization(s) that raise the most funds over three scheduled check points during the six months prior to the tournament.  Notre Dame Academy generated the most in ticket sales for the first bonus pool, ending November 19.  The next opportunity for the charities to receive a matching donation from Northern Trust is January 6, 2011; the final bonus pool ends on February 9, 2011.

"The charitable component of the Northern Trust Open is important to us, and we are proud that this program has helped raise awareness of the tournament's positive impact on the community," said Northern Trust Corporation Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Frederick H. Waddell. "We thank the many nonprofit organizations that have joined in our efforts and we congratulate The First Tee of Pasadena on their fundraising success. We are happy to further support their mission in providing access to golf facilities for youths who otherwise would not be exposed to the game."

"Congratulations to Notre Dame Academy," said Northern Trust Open Executive Director Jerry West.  "They have embraced our TICKETS Fore CHARITY program, which is gaining momentum in its second year, and are setting the pace for the 61 other organizations involved in the program.   Of course, a huge thank you to Northern Trust for their bonus pool contribution and for continuing to show how the Northern Trust Open is committed to making a positive impact throughout Los Angeles."

Notre Dame Academy is a Catholic, private, fully-accredited college preparatory school for young women, established in 1949 by the Sisters of Notre Dame. Located in a residential area of West Los Angeles, the Academy is a microcosm of the ethnically-diverse community it serves. Young women from as far north as Malibu, as far east as Pasadena and as far south as Palos Verdes with varied ethnic, social and economic backgrounds make up the progressive, talented and service-oriented student body attending NDA.

Steeped in the tradition of "Educating Young Women to Make a Difference," Notre Dame Academy's unique, educational experience combines a Catholic value-centered program with a challenging and comprehensive academic curriculum. As an Academy of the Sisters of Notre Dame, students share a common bond and rich history with all students at Notre Dame schools around the world.
TICKETS Fore CHARITY enables participating charities to receive contributions based on the number of tickets sold in their name. One-hundred percent of net proceeds from tickets purchased through the program will go to charity: 80 percent to the charity promoting the tickets and 20 percent to the Los Angeles Junior Chamber of Commerce Charity Foundation, which enriches the lives of young professionals in the greater Los Angeles area to develop strong corporate, civic and nonprofit leaders through professional growth, leadership development, personal enrichment and community involvement.

Non-profit organizations interested in participating in the TICKETS Fore CHARITY program may contact Brennan Cassidy in the tournament office at (310) 573-5810.  Prices range from $30 for a daily grounds ticket to $80 for a weekly grounds ticket.
