Based purely on 2013 PGA TOUR statistics, the Americans hold a commanding edge in The Presidents Cup.

Eight Americans rank inside the top 20 in the All-Around Ranking (Tiger Woods, Steve Stricker, Jordan Spieth, Keegan Bradley, Brandt Snedeker, Webb Simpson, Phil Mickelson, Matt Kuchar) compared to only three on the International Team (Adam Scott, Jason Day, Brendon de Jonge). The All-Around Ranking totals a player's rank in the following statistics: Scoring Leaders, Putting Leaders, Eagle Leaders, Birdie Leaders, Sand Saves, Greens in Regulation, Driving Distance and Driving Accuracy.

The International Team and U.S. Team both have five players ranked inside the top 25 in greens in regulation. But the biggest difference is the short game. Five Americans rank inside the top 25 in strokes gained-putting (Woods, Mickelson, Snedeker, Kuchar, Stricker); the highest-ranked International Team member (Day) ranks 29th. The next best International is Charl Schwartzel, who ranks 44th; nobody else ranks inside the top 75.

In scrambling, seven Americans rank inside the top 50 as opposed to three for the International Team.

Of course, a number of International players spend time playing other tours and Louis Oosthuizen only played 12 events due to injury. Hideki Matsuyama, Branden Grace and Richard Sterne, along with Oosthuizen, did not meet the minimum number of rounds to be officially ranked in 2013. Their projected statistics are listed.

Here's a statistical breakdown of every player at The Presidents Cup.
