    WHAT THEY'RE SAYING

"Bill Haas and I were talking about it today on 15 walking up. There's just nothing like hitting a shot on 16. It definitely gets you a little jacked up. I hit a 52‑degree and I flew it about 134. I usually hit that club about 115. There's a different energy in there, gets you a little pumped up, and, I mean, you can rip some shots." -- Ryan Moore

"After getting booed off the tee box and coming off with a birdie, that was pretty fun." -- Kevin Stadler, who barely missed the green left before knocking it in from 18 feet.

"That green was also really fast. Probably the firmest and fastest green out here. I thought I made my first 2 on 16 out here, and it hit something and popped up in the air, but I had a nice little tap‑in there. I wasn't too disappointed." -- Harris English

"It was a gap wedge. It was pathetic. I don't even know what to say. I don't remember ever hitting a shot like that even in practice." -- Phil Mickelson, who missed the green left and went on to double bogey the hole.
