4. ZACH JOHNSON
2013 SEASON IN REVIEW: Zach Johnson arrives at East Lake as one of the top five players in the FedExCup in spite of a slow start to the season. He had just one top-10 before July and ranked 65th in the FedExCup after a 58th-place finish in the Travelers Championship on June 23. That was Johnson’s last start before an incredible run that has him in the top five of the FedExCup entering the TOUR Championship by Coca-Cola.
Johnson had five consecutive top-5s in July and August, a stretch that included two majors and a World Golf Championship. After a runner-up at the John Deere Classic, where he lost a three-way playoff eventually won by Jordan Spieth, Johnson had top-10s at The Open Championship, World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational, PGA Championship and Wyndham Championship. His win at last week’s BMW Championship was his sixth top-10 in his past seven starts. It also was his 10th PGA TOUR victory.
