MARANA, Ariz. -- Rory McIlroy has yet to make an equipment change during the first month and a half of the season. He did, however, make a bag change at the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship.
After opening the year with a red Nike Golf staff bag, McIlroy switched to a new Bose bag on Monday. McIlroy signed a multi-year endorsement deal with the consumer electronics manufacturer last February but had yet to sport the company's logo on his bag or apparel.
The two-time major winner posted a message and photo on Facebook and noted that the bag would eventually be auctioned off, with all proceeds going to the Rory Foundation.
McIlroy did something similar last year when he auctioned off his first six staff bags -- each staff bag had a different charity on the side panel -- of the 2013 season. Proceeds from each auction went to the charity on his bag.
