SuperStroke added another marquee name to its staff on Wednesday in reigning PGA TOUR Rookie of the Year Jordan Spieth. The 20-year-old will join PGA Championship winner Jason Dufner as the company's second global brand ambassador. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Spieth used a prototype Flatso Ultra last season to secure his first PGA TOUR title at the John Deere Classic. The new Flatso Grip — unveiled at the PGA Merchandise Show — is 82 grams and 1.10 inches in diameter, making it one of the smallest grips SuperStroke produces.
The grip features the company's flat-top front, pentagonal back design that, according to SuperStroke, "increases shoulder rotation and decreases wrist activity, creating a more repeatable putting stroke."
"We're so excited to make Jordan a part of our team," said Dean Dingman, SuperStroke Golf's president said in a release. "With his great success on TOUR last year and all that he accomplished as a rookie, we think his future is going to be unbelievable."
While Spieth and Dufner are the only SuperStroke staffers, the company saw a number of players use different SuperStroke models last season, including Phil Mickelson, K.J. Choi, Matt Kuchar, Sergio Garcia and Fred Couples.
