Two-time PGA TOUR winner Jonas Blixt became the latest name to re-sign with his current equipment and apparel company, agreeing to terms on a contract extension that will see him continue to use Cobra Golf equipment and wear Puma Golf apparel and footwear next season. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“I’ve been a longtime fan of the Cobra and Puma brands, and I’m excited to continue representing both in years to come,” Blixt said. “Being a Cobra Puma Golf athlete has played a significant role in helping me achieve my current ranking, and I’m looking forward to having the company’s continued support to reach the next level.”
According to Cobra, Blixt plans to open 2014 with the company's new BiO CELL driver, BiO CELL fairway wood and Tour Trusty wedges in the bag. He'll also be wearing Puma's Spring/Summer 2014 apparel and footwear from the LiteStyle platform.
“Jonas has given a strong performance on the course with our products over the past three years, and we’re thrilled to further support him as he continues his ascension in the world rankings,” said Bob Philion, president of Cobra Puma Golf. “His style and skill set make him a perfect ambassador for both the Cobra and Puma brands, and we look forward to watching his ongoing success.”
Blixt is currently 41st in the Official World Golf Ranking with PGA TOUR wins at the 2012 Frys.com Open and 2013 The Greenbrier Classic. Along with Ian Poulter and Rickie Fowler, Blixt has become one of Cobra's most recognizable names in the last few years.
