Tour Edge has rolled out a number of very successful fairway woods through its high-end Exotics line over the past seven years, but its latest creation, the limited edition Exotics CB Pro, features what is arguably the most unique fairway wood sole on the market.
The "Slip Stream sole," which looks like a work of art, features nine strips of wavy steel that minimize turf interaction by reducing the points of contact with the ground, allowing the club to glide along the turf.
Compared to a large majority of today's oversized fairway woods that have larger-than-average heads that make them mini-drivers, the Exotics CB Pro is a throwback with a very traditional 160-cc head that puts an emphasis on workability and control.
While the head may be smaller than the average fairway wood, the beta titanium cup face and stainless-steel body make it one of the hottest models on the market with a CT — the club's spring-line effect — of 250, which puts it right at the USGA legal limit.
The head also features a lower center of gravity that helps the club produce higher and longer shots.
The Exotics CB Pro comes with a Fujikura Speeder 661 or a Speeder 757 shaft and will be available in five lofts (13.5, 14.5, 15.5, 16.5 and 17.5 degrees) with a retail price of $499.
