With the 2013 PGA TOUR almost in the books, equipment companies are looking ahead to next year. Nike became the latest company to give golfers a sneak peek, after a "Covert Tour 2.0" driver appeared on the USGA's list of conforming driver heads this week.
The Covert Tour 2.0 has a couple similar features to the 2013 VR_S Covert Tour driver, including Nike's FlexLoft adapter and distinct cavity-back in the sole.
While they may look almost identical, there are a couple noticeable cosmetic differences. Nike added a large "TOUR" emblem to the sole, and swapped the red paint in the cavity-back area for a brighter color. The USGA only takes photos in black-and-white, so it's difficult to tell what the new color scheme will be on the sole.
Covert Tour 2.0 was the only new addition to the USGA's list, but you can assume Nike likely has a non-tour Covert 2.0 driver in the works, like it did for last year's 2013 VR_S Covert driver line.
