Stewart Cink and his son, Conner, won last week’s 2013 PNC Father/Son Challenge by three strokes over Steve Elkington and his son, Sam. The Cinks had a 9-under 27 score on the back nine and needed just nine total putts.

With their victory, the team of Stewart and Conner Cink became the first team since Raymond Floyd and Ray Floyd Jr. in 1995 to claim the PNC Father/Son Challenge in their first appearance.

Defending champion Kenny Perry (with teammate Sean O’Hair) finished 5th in last week’s Franklin Templeton Shootout, the best of the three Champions Tour professionals who participated in the event. Tournament host Greg Norman paired with Jonas Blixt to finish T8, while Mark Calcavecchia was 12th with teammate Chad Campbell.

Paul Wesselingh ended the year in style with a five stroke victory over David Frost at the MCB Tour Championship on the European Senior Tour. Wesselingh also sealed the European Senior Tour Order of Merit title in Mauritius.

Notable changes for the recently released 2014 Champions Tour tournament schedule include the introduction of the Tour’s first Invitational format. The Insperity Championship will become the Insperity Invitational (Apr. 28 - May 4) and will have a purse increase from $1.8 million to $2 million. Also, the Montreal Championship will move further north in Canada, to Quebec City, and now be known as the Quebec City Championship (Sept. 1-7). The event will be played at La Tempete Golf Club. The first major of the 2014 season, the Regions Tradition (May 12-18) held annually at Shoal Creek, returns to May after being played in June the past two years.

“FORE Our Kids”, the fundraising initiative of The Principal Charity Classic, was named the 2013 Champions Tour Charity of the Year. “FORE Our Kids” will receive $30,000, which will benefit children with disabilities and illnesses in central Iowa through the donation of adapted bicycles and specially equipped iPads for children's organizations associated with The 2013 Principal Charity Classic.

“I just remember thinking; this is the most incredible thing. Watching him just almost go unconscious and just knock down these ridiculous shots one after another, it was surreal. This actually just happened. He did this. That was my one memory. Wow, he did it.” – Connor Cink was asked to recall what he remembered most about his dad’s, 2009 British Open win following their victory at last week’s PNC Father/Son Challenge.

“When you retire from other sports, you’re done. In golf, you can go back and do it again. Amazing. I never thought, when I was 30, the Champions Tour would still be going when I was 50.” – Billy Andrade will be a rookie in 2014 when he turns 50 on January 25.
