All the talking entering the final round seemed to center around Justin Thomas and Jon Rahm. Which one of the superstars would win the ZOZO CHAMPIONSHIP @ SHERWOOD? In the end, Patrick Cantlay crashed the L.A. party and exited with the hardware. Cantlay earned his third PGA TOUR victory after an impressive final-round 7-under 65 at Sherwood, clipping Thomas and Rahm by one shot. Cantlay was rock solid while Thomas and Rahm had some uncharacteristic hiccups on the back nine when the leaderboard was crowded. “I felt comfortable all week here in California, having grown up here,” said Cantlay, who was born in Long Beach and attended UCLA. “I like this overcast weather. Everyone complained about it this morning, but I kind of like it. It’s island time on TOUR with the Bermuda Championship next up on the schedule. A year after Brendon Todd warmed the hearts of everyone in the golf world with an incredible slump-busting win, he returns to defend the title that kick-started a career resurgence. Joining Todd in paradise are former collegiate stars Will Zalatoris and Justin Suh who earned spots in the field after top-10 finishes at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. Henrik Stenson, Harold Varner III, Max Homa and recent winner Stewart Cink also make the trip with 500 FedExCup points in sight. Some friendly family competition could also be on tap, as brothers Ollie and Luke Schniederjans and former PLAYERS champ Fred Funk and his son Taylor are among those competing this week. 



Phil Mickelson. Charles Barkley. Stephen Curry. Peyton Manning. Competing on the course for a good cause. What else does a fan want? The four superstars will compete on Nov. 17 in “Capital One’s The Match: Champions for Change” at Stone Canyon Golf Club in Oro Valley, Arizona. Mickelson and Barkley will team up against Curry and Manning in a modified alternate shot match play format. The event will benefit Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) and will be broadcast live on TNT.
