GREAT ABACO, The Bahamas – Canada’s Adam Svensson was agonizingly close to his first PGA TOUR card via last year’s Web.com Tour Finals.
A tie for fifth at the Albertsons Boise Open presented by Kraft Nabisco put him in strong position, but missed cuts at the final two Finals events left him on the outside looking in, at No. 26 on The Finals 25.
The Barry University alum started on the path to redemption this month in The Bahamas. After a T13 at the season-opening The Bahamas Great Exuma Classic at Sandals Emerald Bay, Svensson captured his first career Web.com Tour title at this week’s The Bahamas Great Abaco Classic at The Abaco Club.
The 24-year-old fired rounds of 68-67-68-68 at The Abaco Club on Winding Bay, one shot better than Sungjae Im, last week’s winner at Sandals Emerald Bay GC.
Svensson moves to No. 2 on The 25, well positioned to earn that first TOUR card by season’s end.

The fourth-year Web.com Tour pro credits his driver for consistent play throughout the week at The Abaco Club.
“If you’re hitting the fairways, you have the opportunity to make birdies,” Svensson said. “And I hit driver really well this week.”
