PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – The Chiquita Classic, which wrapped up Sunday afternoon, is the second of four Web.com Tour Finals events. Once again this week, the Web.com Tour is sharing a projected list of the 50 players who would get their 2014-15 PGA TOUR cards IF the Finals were to end today.
The Web.com Tour Finals move to Columbus, Ohio this week for the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship. They conclude the following week in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida at the Web.com Tour Championship. The priority ranking order will be finalized on Sunday, Sept. 21.
The priority rankings are used to form fields on the PGA TOUR.
The two players who earn the most money on both the combined Web.com Tour Regular Season / Finals money list and the four-event Finals money list will be fully exempt on TOUR in 2014-15 and receive an invitation to the 2015 PLAYERS Championship.
At the conclusion of the Finals, the players will be “zippered”, with the 2014 Web.com Tour “Regular Season 25” (left column) being seeded with odd numbers based on their cumulative Regular Season / Finals earnings (3, 5, 7…45, 47, 49) and the “Finals 25” (right column) seeded with even numbers (4, 6, 8…46, 48, 50) based on their earnings in the four Finals events only. The two leading money winners will both be seeded No. 1.
Peter Tomasulo has an $831 advantage over both Scott Gardiner and James Driscoll for the last available spot on the “Finals 25” list.
