October 14, 2013

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – Gordon Johnson has been a long-time fan of the Tour and was glued to the television on Sunday of the Tour Championship, cheering on Andrew Loupe and watching the money list bubble. Now thanks to the tournament, Johnson will be treated to a once-in-a-lifetime experience in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., the home of the Tour. Johnson entered a sweepstakes on the Tour Championship Facebook page and was selected at random for the grand prize which includes golf at TPC Sawgrass and a stay at the Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa.

Beginning Sept. 12, fans were invited to sign up on the Tour Championship Facebook page for a sweepstakes to win the grand prize and receive VIP treatment at TPC Sawgrass and the Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa. After fans submitted their name to the sweepstakes it was up to fate, and a winner was pulled at random on Oct. 1, 2013.

When Johnson and his wife make their way to Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., to redeem the grand prize they will enjoy a round of golf for two on Dye’s Valley Course at TPC Sawgrass, as well as a one-night stay in deluxe accommodations at the newly ReFreshed Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa, 50-minute Swedish massages for two in the Sawgrass Spa and dinner for two at Vernon’s, the resort’s new signature restaurant.

“I have always wanted to visit TPC Sawgrass to play golf and to see the nearby World Golf Hall of Fame,” said Gordon Johnson, who hails from Palm Harbor, Fla. “I haven’t sat down since I found out about winning the sweepstakes. My wife and I are beyond excited and can’t thank the tournament enough for this experience.”

The World Golf Hall of Fame & Museum will also be providing complimentary tickets to the Museum in nearby St. Augustine, Fla. for Gordon and his wife, making their experience even more memorable.

“Fans are at the heart of the Tour Championship and the tournament is thrilled to have such an enthusiastic winner in Gordon Johnson,” said Matt Rapp, Executive Director of the Tour Championship.

The Tour Championship made its debut on Dye’s Valley Course at TPC Sawgrass in September and was won by Tour rookie, Chesson Hadley. It was the culminating event of the 2013 Tour season, and the inaugural Tour Finals. At the end of the Tour Championship, all 50 PGA TOUR cards for the 2013-14 season were awarded to the top 25 money winners from the end Tour Regular Season, as well as the top 25 money winners from the Tour Finals.
