Sunday's final round of the PGA Championship had the event's highest final-round TV rating in five years, CBS announced on Monday.

An average household rating of 6.0 watched Rory McIlroy outduel Phil Mickelson, Rickie Fowler and Henrik Stenson to win his fourth major. That rating is up 36 percent from last year's final round.

It's the highest-rated Sunday at the PGA since 2009 when Y.E. Yang rallied past Tiger Woods in the final round.

Sunday's rating is also 54 percent higher than in 2012 when McIlroy won his first PGA Championship.

Saturday's third round was also the highest-rated third round in five years, with an average rating of 3.2.
