- Patrick Reed is the first TOUR player in 77 years to win three times prior to making his first major start.
Next month, Patrick Reed is scheduled to play in the Masters. It will be the first major start of his career.
Reed already has three wins on the PGA TOUR, the third being last week's World Golf Championships-Cadillac Championship.
So that begged the question -- how many players have won three PGA TOUR events before making their major debut? The answer, thanks to the fine work of Alex Turnbull and the PGA TOUR ShotLink team, is ... four.
Reed, in fact, will be the first player since Sam Snead in 1937 to win three times prior to making his first major appearance.
