Snedeker won't play at Sherwood

Although his rehab from an injury to his left knee is ahead of schedule, Brandt Snedeker has decided to withdraw from next month's Northwestern Mutual World Challenge.

Snedeker bruised his tibia and strained the ACL in his left knee on Nov. 4 when he fell off a Segway during a corporate outing in China the Monday after the World Golf Championships-HSBC Champions in Shanghai.

With a busy PGA TOUR schedule early in 2014, Snedeker, who is ranked ninth in the world, decided not to push his return to competition. The 2012 FedExCup champion finished third or better in four of his first five starts last year, including a win at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.
