Rd. 3 wrap: Simpson still leads

By Sean Martin, PGATOUR.COM

LAS VEGAS -- Webb Simpson will take a four-shot lead into the final round of the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. He is seeking his fourth PGA TOUR victory and first since the 2012 U.S. Open.

Simpson is at 19-under 194 (64-63-67) after shooting 67 on Saturday. He made two bogeys and six birdies in the third round. His closest pursuer is fellow Raleigh, N.C., native Chesson Hadley. Simpson, 28, is two years older than Hadley; they're also former Atlantic Coast Conference foes, with Simpson attending Wake Forest and Hadley playing at Georgia Tech.

Hadley is a TOUR rookie after graduting from the Web.com Tour. He earned the most combined money in the Web.com Tour's Regular Season and Finals, finishing third on the Regular Season money list and earning the second-most money in the Web.com Tour Finals. He won twice on the Web.com Tour in 2013, including the season-ending Web.com Tour Championship.

Hadley made double-bogey on the par-4 third hole, but didn't have another over-par hole Saturday. He made four birdies and an eagle at the par-5 16th to shoot 67. He holed out from 98 yards on the 16th.

Jeff Overton, who's seeking his first PGA TOUR victory, is alone in third place at 14 under par. Jason Bohn is another shot back.
