Hurley makes most of quick turnaround

By Sean Martin, PGATOUR.COM

LAS VEGAS -- It was dark when Billy Hurley III completed the second round at TPC Summerlin, and it was dark when he arrived Saturday morning to warm up for the following one.

Hurley shot 66 on Saturday after teeing off in the day's second pairing (7:39 a.m.); he's at 8-under 205 through 54 holes (69-70-66). The moon was rising above the mountains surrounding TPC Summerlin when he completed Friday's 70. Hurley, who played in the second-to-last group Friday (12:55 p.m.), made a 10-foot par putt on his final hole to make the cut on the number. He warmed up under floodlights Saturday morning after arriving at the course shortly before 6 a.m.

He hit 16 of 18 greens Saturday. He's hit 47 of 54 greens this week, but hasn't had fewer than 31 putts in any of the rounds. "I'm hitting the ball great," Hurley said. "I just have not putted consistently well."

Hurley is playing his second TOUR season after regaining his card at the Web.com Tour Finals. He finished ninth at last week's Frys.com Open, his third top-10 in 39 career TOUR starts.
