Cabrera's caddie oversleeps, arrives late

By Brian Wacker, PGATOUR.COM

DUBLIN, Ohio -- Angel Cabrera Jr., who is caddying for his father this week, overslept and missed his ride to the golf course Saturday morning.

By the time he arrived after catching the next car to Muirfield Village, Cabrera had already resumed his foursomes match on the 14th hole, using caddie captain Greg Hearmon until his son arrived.

Hearmon is a veteran caddie who has worked for Charl Schwartzel, Retief Goosen, Justin Rose and most recently Sergio Garcia.

Cabrera Jr. was back on the bag by the 15th and carried the bag the rest of the way.

This marks the second straight year in an international team competition that a player or caddie arrived late to the golf course.

At last year's Ryder Cup, Rory McIlroy got confused by the Chicago time zone and needed a police escort to make his tee time at Medinah.
