Els-de Jonge (Int'l) def. Haas-Mahan (U.S.), 4 & 3

Ernie Els and Brendon de Jonge had little trouble with Bill Haas and Hunter Mahan -- the match was over by the 15th hole.

DUBLIN, Ohio -- The International duo of Ernie Els and Brendon de Jonge led nearly the entire match en route to a 4 & 3 win over the American duo of Bill Haas and Hunter Mahan in Friday's Foursomes at The Presidents Cup.

De Jonge, one of Nick Price's Captain's picks, continued to impress at Muirfield Village, with Els supplying the veteran influence. The International Team won the second hole on de Jonge's birdie putt. and the third when Els finished off the birdie. The International team then eagled the par-5 fifth when de Jonge found the green with his second shot. The Americans, meanwhile, didn't produce their first birdie until the ninth hole and never won a hole. The Internatiional duo was a collective 8 under through the 15 holes.
