U.S. players get in some practice time

DUBLIN, Ohio -- Muirfield Village was closed to the public on Monday but that didn't mean members of the U.S. Team couldn't hit the practice range.

Jordan Spieth, who came early and spent quality time on the putting green, and Jason Dufner even got in a few holes while Bill Haas, Webb Simpson, Matt Kuchar, Keegan Bradley, Hunter Mahan and Steve Stricker worked on their games. Brandt Snedeker made good use of the brand new fitness center.

U.S. Captain Fred Couples and his assistant Jay Haas roamed Jack Nicklaus' signature creation in a golf cart. Back at the hotel in downtown Columbus, other players were finishing network TV interviews and having last-minute fittings for their uniforms.

The Americans will hold their first official function, a team dinner, Monday night.
