Weekend weather could be an issue

ATLANTA -- Partly cloudy conditions and temperatures in the low 80s are expected for the first two rounds of the TOUR Championship by Coca-Cola.

The weekend at East Lake could be problematic, though, as an approaching cold front puts rain and possible thunderstorms squarely in the forecast.

The wet stuff should begin late Saturday afternoon and continue into the evening -- but the tournament is already looking at a 4 p.m. finish on NBC, which has football commitments after the golf is over. The chance of rain and thunderstorms is 50 percent with a high of 79 expected.

Sunday, though, the probability of precipitation increases to 80 percent. The high temperature reached during the final round will only be 73.
