Snedeker birdies seven straight

LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Brandt Snedeker has birdied seven straight holes to open a two-stroke lead at the BMW Championship.

Snedeker's streak started at the 13th hole when he made a 14-footer. Birdies from 15, 8, 10, 37, 6 and 18 feet followed.

He also had seven straight par-breakers at the 2007 Buick Invitational. But Snedeker was 8 under (six birdies and an eagle) on those seven during the first round on the North Course at Torrey Pines.

Mark Calcavecchia holds the PGA TOUR mark for consecutive birdies with nine during the 2009 Canadian Open. The most consecutive birdies in 2013 has been six by six players.

Snedeker has seven holes remaining -- five par 4s, one par 3 and one par 5 -- as he stalks the course record of 62 and a potential 59.
