Well, sometimes even yours truly takes one too many waggles for his own good.

After using the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational as a tryout specifically for Jason Dufner's potential as a one-and-done for the PGA Championship, I got caught in the glow and the groove of Zach Johnson. The duo shared fourth place at Firestone, but ZJ was flashing more consistent form as that was his third consecutive top 10. He'd go on to tie for eighth at Oak Hill -- I'll never turn away top 10s in one-and-dones -- but I ignored the game plan with Duff Daddy.

Lesson No. 2 comes in the form of the ironic reality that Johnson sits atop my Power Rankings for this week's Wyndham Championship. He, of course, is off my board, as are the next five. Because commitment deadlines fall late on Friday afternoons and Johnson hadn't competed at Sedgefield since 2008, there was no way to guarantee that he'd be an option this week.

So, I'm plugging in Hideki Matsuyama. Yes, at No. 7 in the Power Rankings, he's my highest available, but I've been wanting to sneak him in somehow just for the sheer joy of latching onto his game for one week. The 21-year-old has shattered all kinds of glass ceilings in his young career, both as an amateur and since turning pro earlier in April. The Wyndham will mark his fifth consecutive week on the road outside Japan, but his game has traveled just fine.

If any of the top six in my Power Rankings are available to you, don't hesitate to invest. Learn from my experience.
