Austin wins playoff with birdie

Woody Austin birdied the first extra hole to win a three-way sudden death playoff Sunday at the Sanderson Farms Championship.

It's the first victory since 2007 for the 49-year-old and the fourth of his career.

Austin shot a final-round 67 to get to 20 under and into a playoff with Daniel Summerhays and Cameron Beckman.

It was another tough break for Summerhays, who was seeking his first career win for the second straight week.

Last week at the John Deere Classic, Summerhays, playing in the final group on Sunday, bogeyed the 72nd hole to miss out on a playoff by one.

Sunday, Summerhays birdied his last two holes to get into the playoff.

With the win, Austin gets 300 FedExCup points.
