One-and-done: The Greenbrier

No more excuses. It's time to burn Jordan Spieth.

Because The Greenbrier Classic is in just its fourth year and has feted rookie champions in each of the last two since a course renovation, the rawest crop of PGA TOUR members shouldn't be immediately eliminated as a potential source of value at The Old White TPC.

In addition to Scott Stallings' and Ted Potter Jr.'s breakthrough victories, Kyle Stanley (2011), Charlie Beljan (2012) and Roberto Castro (2012) have posted top 10s as rookies at this event. Spieth leads the 2013 rookie class with five top 10s; only two others have as many as three. And since he's not eligible for the FedExCup Playoffs but has already earned enough money to guarantee his 2013-14 PGA TOUR card, only one quantifiable goal remains in the short-term -- win.

AT&T National champ Bill Haas would serve as a terrific fit this week, but one-and-doners aren't keen on picking last week's winner what with the law of averages, a predictable letdown, etc. Webb Simpson is an obvious choice as well if he's still on your board. In my opinion, those are the only two no-brainers for this tournament.

All the more reason to burn Jordan Spieth.
