Monday qualifiers: HP Byron Nelson

By Michael Curet, Special to PGATOUR.COM

Stephen Gangluff posted a 6-under 66 to earn medalist honors in the HP Byron Nelson Championship Monday qualifier at The Lakes at Castle Hills in Lewisville, Texas. The 38-year-old former PGA TOUR member will be making his first PGA TOUR start of 2013.

Zack Fischer, Jason Schultz and Bobby Massa all shot 67 to earn the other three spots in the field.

Gangluff, who played at Ohio State, made 23 starts in 2012, making only six cuts.

Fischer qualified for the third time this season and is a former University of Texas-Arlington golfer.

Schultz, a 40-year-old Dallas resident who played at the University of Missouri, has spent 2013 and most of his career on the Web.com Tour, where he has one victory (in 2005 at the Chattanooga Classic). He has also made 20 cuts on the PGA TOUR , which included a tie for 63rd at the 2010 HP Byron Nelson Championship.

Massa, 25, also played at the University of Texas-Arlington, missed the cut at the WNB Golf Classic on the Web.com Tour earlier this spring.
