Weekend could bring rain

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. -- What looked like a stellar forecast at the beginning of the week, particularly given the 10 inches of raing TPC Sawgrass absorbed last week, has become a bit iffy for Saturday and Sunday.

The weather for Friday's second round should be magnificent with sunny skies, light winds increasing to 10-18 mph and temperatures in the mid-80s. But there is a threat of showers and thunderstorms for the weekend as a cold front pushes through northern Florida.

Saturday morning should be fine but there's a 40 percent chance of the wet stuff after noon. With temperatures topping out at 85, some of the rain could come in the form of thundershowers. The forecast for the final round is almost the same but the chance of showers and thunderstorms increases to 50 mph.
