Tee at No. 15 moved back

MARANA, Ariz. -- Officials made one change to the course in advance of the resumption of play at the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship.

In addition, once the players complete the hole they were playing when competition was suspended on Wednesday, they can lift, clean and place their balls. Preferred lies will be used in the nine matches that had not begun, starting at the first hole Thursday.

The tee box at the 15th hole, which is the highest on the course, has been moved back so the hole is playing about 334 yards. Prior to today, the distance from tee to the front of the green was 305 yards.

Officials made the decision because there is still some snow around the green and they would rather see players laying up than trying to drive the green and have the ball spray into the snow.

Changes can be made because the entire field does not have to play the course the same way as is the case in stroke play. All that matters is that the two competitors in each match play the same course.
