Play to resume at 10:30 ET Wednesday

MARANA, Ariz. -- With more than an inch of snow on the ground and temperatures that will hover around freezing overnight, tournament officials have decided to wait until 10:30 a.m. ET (8:30 a.m. MT) on Thursday to resume the first round of the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship.

The match between Peter Hanson and Thomas Bjorn -- the first of nine bouts that had not begun before play was suspended on Wednesday -- will then tee off at 10:40. The others will begin at 10-minute intervals afterwards.

At least some of the second round of matches are also expected to begin later on Thursday but no start time has been established. Thursday's forecast is for frost in the morning with temperatures rising into the mid-50s.

There is the chance for an additional 1-2 inches of snow Wednesday night.
