Snedeker making another charge

LA JOLLA, Caif. -- Brandt Snedeker, who came from seven strokes off the pace a year ago to win the Farmers Insurance Open in a playoff, is making a similar charge on Sunday.

Snedeker birdied the ninth hole to turn in 4 under and pull with three strokes of Woods. The reigning FedExCup champion, who has four top-10 finishes at Torrey Pines, is now tied with Nick Watney, the 2009 champ, at 11 under.

Snedeker has completed 10 holes, though, while Watney is through four and is 3 under for the tournament. Snedeker shared the first-round lead after shooting 65, but was 10 strokes higher in the second round.

Woods, meanwhile, has struggled off the tee -- hitting his drives on the first two holes well left. He's managed to make par on each one, though.
