Sneds leads by four with 1 to play

ATLANTA -- Brandt Snedeker is one hole away from winning the FedExCup after coming up with a unexpected birdie at the 17th hole to open a four-shot edge in the TOUR Championship by Coca-Cola.

Snedeker chipped in from 29 feet for the birdie that moved him to 11 under. His drive had ricocheted off the grandstand on the right side of the fairway but he put his second shot just over the left greenside bunker to set the stage for the dramatic 3.

His playing partner, Justin Rose, was in the fairway bunker and came up short of the green. He chipped 15 feet by and missed the putt, so he dropped back into a tie for second at 7 under with Ryan Moore.
