Snedeker takes solo lead

ATLANTA -- Brandt Snedeker just rolled in a 9-footer for birdie at the third hole to break out of the tie at the top with Justin Rose.

Snedeker, who will win the FedExCup with a victory in the TOUR Championship, is now 9 under. He's one shot ahead of Rose and four up on the rest of the field.

Rory McIlroy, who started the week ranked No. 1 in the FedExCup, is among the group of four tied at 5 under. Also at that number are Bubba Watson, Jim Furyk and Ryan Moore.

McIlroy, who won the last two Playoffs events, is currently projected to finish second in the FedExCup. Tiger Woods, who is 2 over through five holes and seven shots off the pace being set by Snedeker, is projected to drop one spot to third.
