Clark answers Garcia with birdie

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Sergio Garcia regained sole possession of the lead with a 5-foot birdie putt at the third hole. Minutes later, though, Tim Clark poured in a 10-footer at the fourth to get back into a tie at the top.

Clark and Garcia, who likely needs to finish third or better to play his way onto the European Tour Ryder Cup Team with one week before the 10 automatic qualifiers are finalized, are 15 under. Bud Cauley is alone in third at 14 under while Jason Dufner is another stroke behind.

Heath Slocum, who is projected to move from 128th to 113th in the FedExCup, heads a group of seven players at 12 under. Also in that group is defending champion Webb Simpson.
