Donald’s tee shot hits sports agent

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. -- Luke Donald doesn't hit many wayward drives, but at the par-4 14th in Thursday's first round of THE PLAYERS Championship, his tee shot got away from him. The ball sailed into the gallery and hit sports agent Chubby Chandler, who just happens to represent several of Donald's friends, such as Lee Westwood and Darren Clarke.

Donald's tee shot sailed right, hitting Chandler – the founder of International Sports Management -- in the leg, then dropping down and bouncing off the cart path. Donald would eventually suffer a bogey on the hole.

When Donald, the reigning PGA TOUR Player of the Year, realized what had happened, he looked at Chandler with a grin and asked, "I hit you?"

A few members of the gallery wondered if Donald was going to sign a glove for Chandler. Of course, most sports agents are more concerned with signatures on the dotted line.
