Leaderboard update: Palmer rolling

After spending much of the afternoon atop the leaderboard, Webb Simpson has seen his name bumped from the No. 1 position. Ryan Palmer birdied three consecutive holes (Nos. 4-6) and now leads Webb Simpson by one shot at TPC Scottsdale. Simpson, playing in the morning wave, posted a 6-under 65 that gave him the clubhouse lead. Palmer had reached 8 under before a bogey on the par-3 7th hole but still has a one-shot cushion with two holes remaining. Also playing well in the afternoon wave are Sencer Levin and 2011 runner-up Jason Dufner, who are 5 under through 13 and 12 holes respectively.
