Leaderboard update: Every starts slow

HONOLULU – Matt Every has stumbled coming out of the gate in Sunday’s final round.

Every bogeyed the first two holes and has dropped out of the lead that he shared with Jeff Maggert entering the final round at Waialae.

Every’s opening drive at the first hole found the primary rough and his second shot landed in a greenside bunker. He missed a 6-foot putt to save par.

His tee shot at the second hole found the water, forcing him to take a penalty stroke. But he made a 7-footer for bogey after blasting out of a greenside bunker.

Meanwhile, Maggert has produced two pars and owns a two-shot lead over Every and Johnson Wagner.
