Update: Leaders slow down on back nine

ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. -- Today's final pairing of Billy Horschel and Michael Thompson are heading to the par-5 15th at Sea Island looking to get something going on the back nine. Horschel, who still leads at 14 under, has parred his last 12 holes after opening with back-to-back birdies. Thompson had three birdies on his front nine to get within a stroke of Horschel, but has pars on all five holes on the back nine, including a 10-foot par-saving putt on No. 14. Webb Simpson, playing in the day’s penultimate group, is 1 under for the day and three shots off the pace. He’s currently tied with Trevor Immelman, who closed out a tournament-record-tying 62 more than an hour ago. Four back are Kris Blanks (through 17) and Nick O’Hern (through 15).
