CROMWELL, Conn. -- D.J. Brigman has a long way to go to get in contention here at the Travelers Championship, but may have provided the shot of the day with a hole-in-one on the 150-yard 11th hole with a 9-iron.
Brigman, who started on the back nine, is now 2 under through his first four holes with pars on the other three and 7 under for the week.
Last year, Chad Campbell had an ace on the 16th hole in the opening round and the year before that Tag Ridings aced the 11th, also in the first round.
In all, there have now been 31 hole-in-ones made in tournament history.
